With ferries departing every 30 minutes from Mukilteo and bridge connections at Stanwood and Deception Pass, you can reach either Island in about an hour from Seattle. Fun Facts Whidbey Island's Route 525/20 is the only designated Washington State Scenic Byway on an island. Camano Island is one of the first of ten communities in the nation to be certified by the National Wildlife Federation's Community Wildlife Habitat program. Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve on Whidbey Island is the first National Historic Land Reserve within the National Park system. It permits practical rural land use while preserving and protecting the historic character of the land. Camano Island is home to one of the largest Great Blue Heron rookeries in Puget Sound. |
